Can You Blossom?

Maturity in humanity is like a flower blossoming. Starting from the root, the family you come from; the stem; which is yourself and how you present who you are. The petals slowly begin to open as you reach a certain stage in your life. The goal is to fully blossom into this beautiful flower, or in this case, a well accomplished human being. Every stage in your life is taken into account and counts for how well you blossom. As simple as it may seem for a flower to blossom, remember some die without ever expanding their pedals. -Ruth M. I am Rug, laying here.

My purpose in life may seem meaningless to others,

As I lay flat, extended to my full potential,

Collecting dust particles,

Just laying here, doing my job.

Β

I have always been the one to get stepped on,

At times I feel as if nobody cares,

At times I feel as if nobody notices me.

Β

With my one-sided beauty,

Sometimes I call attention,

Sometimes it’s like I am not even there.

Β

I guess beauty on the outside does not always matter,

From my beautiful shape,

To my beautiful design,

Put together by strangers who weaved my beautiful material,

It is still rare for someone to compliment my beauty.

I just lay here, doing my job,

Hoping someone compliments my beauty,

If not, it is okay.

Β

I only serve to please my meaning in life,

Even if it is to be stepped on all my life,

That is not what bothers me,

I just wish others noticed me more,

While I just lay here, doing my job.
